NXT went to 59 minutes this week, stretching its running time to the absolute breaking point. As such, cuts had to be made and a number of matches that were taped did not end up making the broadcast. For one of the matches, that's no great loss, for the other, maybe more so. First off, Tye Dillinger vs Kalisto hit the cutting room floor, which is fair enough. With Takeover around the corner, and neither man having a solid feud in NXT right now, it makes sense to lose this match. It's always nice to see Kalisto's high-flying, high-octane action, and since Dillinger split from his partner Jordan, he needs all the exposure he can get, but this was lifted out of proceedings without incident. Rather more missed however was Bayley's match vs Jessie McKay. Though a rookie to NXT, McKay is an independent star with 8 years in the ring, previously working in Australia as well as for Combat Zone Wrestling and Ring of Honor, so she's not exactly unknown to the hardcore fan. While no one would have expected her to emerge victorious, her debut would have been something worth watching. This goes double because Bayley hasn't had a televised win in quite some time. Her momentum is flagging slightly, ever since her feud with Emma took a turn for the childish and a display of her dominance would have been highly refreshing before her tag match next week.
