4 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 27)
5. NXT A Bit Face-Less Right Now
Part of that stalled feeling might be to do with NXT's suddenly depleted roster. Adrian Neville's been gone for a few months, and now Sami Zayn and Hideo Itami are both vanishing for, most likely, the rest of 2015. Samoa Joe hasn't really officially begun his NXT in-ring tenure so, leaving the women's division aside (which is in excellent shape), the roster only has one sufficiently over babyface right now, in the form of Finn Balor. That's a lot of pressure to put on the Irish demon, especially considering that he's pretty much set to move up to the main roster. He's got his entrance down pat, his look's unique and compelling, and he's got his signature sequences nailed. There's nothing really keeping him in NXT, except for the fact that, while they scramble to promote new talent (and hopefully hurry along Samoa Joe's in-ring debut) to fill the large void left by Zayn and Itami's departure, they desperately need Balor to stay exactly where he is.
