Pop quiz: When was the last time Dolph Ziggler looked effective?

Answer: When he was paired with Drew McIntyre as the heavy in their tag team.

If Ziggler has been a largely ineffective heel on his own for the past year-plus, why would we suddenly buy him as a challenger for a world title held by the guy who essentially carried him when he was last truly relevant?

We get it: Dolph is the challenger of the month. But at least make us buy into it a bit rather than having him look like a doofus in the lead-up. Monday night, Ziggler tried a cheap shot on Drew McIntyre during the contract signing, to no avail. During a backstage segment, Dolph got put in his place by Sasha Banks & Bayley. And during their mixed tag match, Ziggler didn’t exactly shine against McIntyre, landing only a couple of shots on the WWE Champion.

Sorry Dolph, showing up after losing a feud to Otis and simply saying your “owed” a title shot and then not even bringing the receipts isn’t going to cut it.
