28. 2001 - Stephanie McMahon Compares 9/11 To Her Father’s Federal Indictment

Vince was an egomaniac and lunatic completely detached from reality. He’d go on TV and absolve himself of scandal, even playing the victim. He screwed the most loyal independent contractor who ever worked for him. If a journalist ever questioned his conduct, he’d pull childish faces at them and knock their notes out of their hands.

He was forever encased in what older fans refer to as the “WWF bubble”.

If you thought Ari Aster’s 2018 horror masterpiece was evil, simply recall how hereditary that trait was, when Stephanie McMahon talked about 9/11 just days after the attack.

2,977 people perished when terrorists attacked and brought down the twin towers on September 11, 2001. But you know who else was a victim?

Vince McMahon.

Stephanie McMahon unleashed the most self-centred, insensitive, and insane analogy of all-time when WWE essentially took credit for making Americans feel secure by proceeding with SmackDown 48 hours removed from that day. Everybody else on the roster, who was asked to reflect on the attacks and provide a positive message, was shaken. They barely knew what to say. Stephanie had never been more certain of anything in her life. If she was frazzled, nervous, the response might have been somewhat understandable. People say all sorts of questionable things after an unsettling experience.

With ghastly narcissism, Stephanie, whose poise and conviction wavered not once, said a tragedy on an unfathomable scale was just like the government going after her dad. What?!

Stephanie was the main character in a national tragedy.
