5 Best Opponents For Kurt Angle's WrestleMania 35 Retirement Match
1. John Cena
It's going to be John Cena, isn't it?
The 16-time World Champion had been linked with a United States Title showdown with Samoa Joe. This looks like speculation. It's now being reported that WWE have nothing of the sort planned, and with SmackDown storylines leaning towards a multi-man bout for the blue brand's secondary belt, 'Big Match John' should be free to do something else.
Cena vs. Angle is perfect. It has no obvious downsides, and that's why WWE will probably put it together for 7 April.
It was against Kurt that Cena debuted with "ruthless aggression" back in June 2002, with the rookie pushing the Olympian close in a star-making SmackDown exhibition. They have fought several times since then, with their most recent singles pay-per-view clash going down at Survivor Series 2005, and the idea of Cena retiring Angle 17 years after debuting against him is the easiest storyline WWE could tell at WrestleMania 35.
On top of all this, Cena is a safe worker, a big name, and a top showman. He, more than any high-workrate flipper, will help get the best out of Kurt at 'The Showcase of the Immortals.'
