If you could pick one opponent and one opponent only for an NJPW-bound Chris Jericho, it would almost certainly be Kenny Omega - so a massive well done to whoever it was who decided this was the way to go.

On the other hand, though, there are several other members of the New Japan cast who we'd love to see Y2J lock horns with. Reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champ Kazuchika Okada, for one, and how about Tetsuya Naito, or better yet Hiroshi Tanahashi?

Everything about this arrangement seems, unfortunately, to point towards a one-night-only deal. Jericho, on paper, has business unfinished in the WWE, and besides which is nearly 47 and presumably approaching the final stretch of his career at any rate.

We're not expecting a full-time Japanese run, but it would be oh-so-sweet if the Canadian decided to stick around for just a handful more shows. Anyone who experiences the Tokyo Dome at full tilt tends to get a taste for it too, so who knows? This might even be an outside possibility.
