5 Biggest Winners & Losers From AEW In 2025

8. Loser: Jon Moxley

How does someone start off the year holding the AEW World Championship as the top of the company in the most dominant heel faction and somehow end up on the list of the biggest losers? Just look at how Jon Moxley's 2025 panned out and you'll see.

While holding the biggest prize in AEW, Moxley was consistently booked as a coward. He spoke highly of himself fixing the company and ridding out the weak, only to constantly require help from an increasing number of allies like Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Gabe Kidd, Daniel Garcia, and even bringing in The Young Bucks and more at times to bolster the ranks.

Upon losing the title to "Hangman" Adam Page, Moxley has picked up victories, but he's also failed to get back in the title hunt properly for two main reasons.

First, he's been running from Darby Allin and suffering tons of punishment as a result of that feud. Second, he's been tapping out consistently to Kyle O'Reilly, who was rather firmly several lowers down beneath him in the midcard.

Moxley's downward spiral is ending his year with a flop instead of being on top.
