5 Biggest Winners & Losers From AEW In 2025
6. Loser: Wardlow
Wardlow cannot catch a break in AEW, unless it happens to be an injury.
Since August 2019, he has been hyped up as a top prospect, and was heading toward that direction at the start of his career. Eventually, some injuries got in the way and started a cycle of setting him back every time he returns.
In October 2023, Wardlow had one of his many returns to start reheating him toward a title shot, joining The Undisputed Kingdom in December. By April, he was injured again, missing the rest of 2024 and over half of 2025. At Forbidden Door on August 24, 2025, Wardlow made another return to attack Prince Nana and start a storyline with Swerve Strickland, joining The Don Callis Family in the process—but also getting injured in that very same segment.
Come September 8, Wardlow was already written off television and is currently recovering from a torn pectoral that has him on the shelf indefinitely, and obviously into 2026.
You're more likely to see Wardlow on your television via American Gladiators before you'll see him back in an AEW ring.
