4. Loser: Titus O’Neil

Speaking of things that don’t make any sense, here’s Titus O’Neil.

One week after debuting the “Titus Brand” in a losing effort to Sami Zayn, Titus fought with R-Truth last night, and guess what happened? He lost, because he’s Titus O’Neil.

It only lasted a couple of minutes, but it was a complete waste of time. WWE have just pulled Titus from one disjointed feud with Darren Young: are they really going to throw him into another with the Golden Truth’s least interesting member? It appears so, and while he’s partially protected by the roll-up finish, O’Neil looks like the most ineffective member of Raw’s roster at the moment.

Commentary tried their best to put the “Titus Brand” over during the match, but it was stunted and awkward. Instead of emerging with a renewed sense of direction, Titus looks completely lost, and his gimmick change is off to the worst possible start.

It’s hard to tell what WWE are trying to do with him. He’s obviously a valued employee who does a lot of great work in his role as an off-screen ambassador, but Titus hasn’t had any momentum since the Prime Time Players split. He’s flotsam at the moment, drifting from unfinished story to unfinished story without any control or direction, and last night pushed him even further back.
