5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE Raw (Oct 17)

3. Loser: Neville

Neville Bo Dallas

Neville seemed like a perfect fit for Raw’s rebooted Cruiserweight division. There weren’t many pre-existing WWE performers who fit the sub-205lb mould, but Neville is one of the best all-round wrestlers in the company, and he’d at least bring some familiarity to the division. It seemed a dead cert that they’d slide him in alongside TJ Perkins and co., but no, the Cruiserweights have taken off without him, and Neville has become pointless.

He lost to Bo Dallas in under three minutes, and if that doesn’t convince you of how unimportant he is to WWE, nothing will. It’s baffling that WWE haven’t thrown him in with the other Cruisers, but losing to a former Social Outcast? That’s a new low for Neville, even though WWE are trying to push Dallas. At the moment, it’s hard to see a bright future for him in the company.

The former NXT Champion just isn’t working out on the main roster. He’s never been the most charismatic performer, but he’s an outstanding, well-rounded wrestler who can do so much more than the flips and dives that made him famous. Sadly, WWE’s writers aren’t content to let workers get over on the strength of their wrestling ability alone any more, and wrestlers like Neville are a casualty of this.
