5 Burning Issues For WWE Raw Tonight (Oct 30)

2. Clash Of The Champions

SmackDown Raw
WWE

WWE.com went to the trouble of knocking up graphics of every championship pairing following Kurt Angle's announcement that Survivor Series would be an evening of Raw Vs SmackDown for the second year in a row. It threw up a visual no wrestling fan wanted to believe could actually be real. A horror in keeping with Halloween festivities, the prospect of The Miz Vs Baron Corbin actually going ahead sent chills up and down collective spines.

On paper one of the worst collaborations of talent the company could elect to select, the two are a genuinely dreadful match, and highlight exactly why the Champion Vs Champion default setting is yet another major problem with the storyline overall.

Most had expected (hoped?) that at least one of the two would lose their title before the show itself, even though neither are particularly well placed to presently ship a title. With Miz having even less of a logical reason to help his General Manager than Corbin does, it seems as though 'The Lone Wolf' could be the man swapped out in order for a babyface to step in against 'The A-Lister'.

Expect Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Alexa Bliss to lob similar bombs at their SmackDown Live! contemporaries too. All the title fights desperately need steam, with Raw providing the ideal stage.
