This will be the first time that Shayna Baszler and Io Shirai have gone one-on-one in WWE, but not the first singles match of their careers. Taking place in Japan's World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion, their previous encounter went down back in 2017, when Baszler was still ironing the greenness out of her work. Even then, that gritty, bruising encounter bodes very, very well for Saturday night, particularly now that the 'Queen Of Spades' has two more years under her belt.

Shirai was involved in the four-way match in New York, where she and friend Kairi Sane got in each other's way. Kairi is gone, but Io's title charge was effectively driven by her, as she was forced to watch Baszler and her Horsewomen brutally beat the former champion on her way out of NXT.

The ensuing weeks saw Shiral transform into an all-out badass. That's a good thing. The person who finally dethrones Baszler needs to look like a berzerker, given how dominant she has been across her two reigns, and the time feels right to pull the trigger. As great as she is, Shayna has done all there is to do as Women's Champion.

Winner: Io Shirai.
