A major long-term draw in the old WWWF, Pedro Morales followed the legendary path of Bruno Sammartino to success as a proper working class hero in the rough-and-tumble brawler mode. A veritable legend of Madison Square Garden, the gate records of which he smashed on more than one occasion, Morales was once even cheered at the expense of the man some deemed him worthy of replacing - Bruno Sammartino - in his most famous bout at Shea Stadium in 1972.
