5 Positives & 5 Negatives Heading Into WWE Money In The Bank 2017
6. Negative: No Reason To Believe In Randy Orton
Much has been made of the fact that, come Money in the Bank, Randy Orton will be looking to regain the WWE Championship in his hometown of St. Louis.
That’s all well and good, and it makes for a nice story, but given the company’s recent booking habits, they’ve hardly given us much reason to believe that Orton can actually come good on Sunday.
Over the past year or so, we’ve seen the likes of Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Bayley lose high-profile matches at PPVs in their hometowns, and just a couple of weeks ago we saw AJ Styles beaten in Atlanta by Dolph Ziggler, of all people. Sure, you could argue that we’re over-analysing things here, but when the company has that kind of track record with its booking, it can sometimes be difficult to suspend your disbelief and overlook these kinds of things.
Having said all that, Orton may well go ahead and win this Sunday and make me eat all of these salty words…
