When it comes to the Dusty Classic, we have ourselves the old two-for-one deal.

Not only does the tournament finale at TakeOver: Toronto promise to be a decent affair, but the preceding weeks of qualifying rounds have provided us with some great action along the way.

We’ve seen various alliances forged and disbanded, as well as some of the brand’s more established stars knocked from atop their perch. That means that this year we’ll be seeing one of developmental’s newer teams—either the Authors of Pain or TM-61—leave Toronto with a major feather in their cap.

Obviously last year the Classic didn’t have much of a long-term impact, with eventual winners Samoa Joe and Finn Bálor soon after splitting up to kick-start their feud. So it’ll be interesting to see how this year’s winners use the tournament as a possible launch-pad moving forward.

All in all, it’s difficult to find fault with a week's-long tag team tournament like the Dusty Classic—providing you’re willing to overlook the injury fiasco, of course.
