5 Reasons Kurt Angle Could Jump To MMA (And 5 Reasons It Won't Happen)

3. Father Time Has Passed Him By

As much as Kurt Angle could pursue an MMA career at age forty-six, or even just a fight or two, there's the question of whether or not he should. Father time has, sadly, passed him by. He's two decades removed from his Olympic win, and his body has been through a lot of wear and tear in the time since. His window for active competition would be so small, a single extended absence due to a training injury could see him miss it completely. Had Angle managed to make the jump prior to his pro wrestling career, or even a decade ago, things might be different. However, in this case, as much as there are a couple of fighters who have competed in MMA in their 50s (Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock come to mind), and a few more in their late 40s (Randy Couture for one), realistically, they are few are far between - and getting started that late, even with a strong background in wrestling, is nearly unheard of.
