Finally, is Jinder Mahal a big enough star for Shinsuke Nakamura to beat? Without diving into the ins and outs of Mahal's own reign as WWE Champ, the fact is that people have been conditioned to expect something special from Nakamura. Rolling over the top of Jinder might not be enough to permanently cement Shinsuke as a WWE headliner.

The recent win over John Cena on SmackDown is arguably bigger for Nakamura's career than beating Jinder Mahal to become WWE Champion would be. Again, the man's first crowning as a top champion in WWE must come after a prolonged journey with bumps in the road. SummerSlam is too soon - way too soon.

In order for Shinsuke to succeed as champion, he needs to beat a heel fans despise but also respect as titleholder. Mahal isn't that man, and it'd feel like a waste of Nakamura's 'lightning in a bottle' aura to have him ascend to the crown over someone people view as a paper champion.
