5 Reasons WWE Should Hire CM Punk (... & 5 Reasons They Shouldn't!)

2. Should - Wrestling Is A Better Place With Him In It...

CM Punk

In Courts of Babylon - an exemplary book discussing the great tennis players of the seventies and eighties - author Peter Bodo recalls the time he asked the legendary Arthur Ashe whether Jimmy Connors - a notoriously surly, argumentative player - was really as big of an a**hole as he appeared. Ashe paused for a moment, before responding in the affirmative.

But, Ashe added with a grin, "...he's my favorite a**hole!"

That quote sums up CM Punk to a tee.

Yes, Punk is an a**hole- no normal person would react to the events of All In the way he did - but he's this writer's favourite a**hole. His intensity and drive can definitely cause him to go too far, but if properly harnessed his mind for the business and desire to improve himself and others (especially younger talent) would be an asset to any company.

Not only that, but his willingness to stand up for causes outside of wrestling should be widely celebrated. Hell, one of the last shots of Punk in AEW was him celebrating with a fan holding a sign supporting trans rights. God knows how WWE would feel about this (certainly their Saudi partners would have something to say), but seeing Punk use a WWE platform to highlight social issues would be a welcome sight on television.

Sadly, there is a caveat to these glowing words...
