As previously mentioned, The Undertaker's Hell in a Cell matches with Shawn Michaels, and Mankind have achieved legendary status. On the other end of the spectrum, however, The Deadman has contested some genuine stinkers inside one of his signature matches against Big Bossman (WrestleMania XV) and Kane (Hell in a Cell 2010). He's also had a pair of crackers with Brock Lesnar and some high-quality contests against Batista and Edge.

Thos matches are all, for better or worse, brought up with regularity today. One of 'Taker's Hell in a Cell matches that isn't brought up so often, though, is his showdown with Randy Orton in the main event of Armageddon 2005. 'Taker and The Legend Killer had been feuding for the best part of a year and their dispute was finally going to be settled inside the demonic structure.

For around thirty minutes, the two men assembled a gripping match that was very much a worthy finale to their epic feud. Orton brought his A game with some little-seen offence and some fantastic villainous expressions while The Phenom more than held up his end of the bargain. Highlights include Orton hitting his foe with a crossbody/splash through a table and levelling with his own Tombstone for a pulsating nearfall.

'Taker managed to rally back, dropping both Randy and his father Bob Orton Jr., who was situated at ringside. Cowboy Bob's involvement actually proved controversial as he did a bladejob while having hepatitis, a fact known to Talent Relations boss John Laurinaitis but not disclosed to The Undertaker beforehand. Needless to say, when 'Undi found out, he directed some choice four-letter words in the direction of Mr. 'People Power'.

Not as great as some of 'Taker's previous Cell outings but a damn fine effort nonetheless, this one deserves to be revisited and reappraised.
