1. Sucked: Mordecai

You'll no doubt be familiar with this face, as the unlucky Kevin Matthew Fertig now makes his second appearance on this list, but instead of playing a vampire, this time he's taking on the role of an albino Undertaker?

This was a gimmick that Fertig personally pitched to Vince McMahon, and it's baffling that he was given an instant start on SmackDown with it. Essentially, Mordecai was a religious zealot who would condemn the audience and attempt to cleanse their sins through vignettes and promos. But rather than cleansing the audience of their sinful ways, he purged himself of a decent run.

The character came into programming with a ton of support behind him, as Vince loved the gimmick and was planning on pairing him with The Undertaker for a WrestleMania bout. However, after Ferig got into a bar fight that procured some pending lawsuits, he was taken off TV.

There were plenty of problems with Mordecai, with many spawning from his derivative Undertaker-like look, but also the performer himself who wasn't able to bring the in-ring dominance that a role like this would require. It turns out that condemning an entire audience wasn't enough to get them invested.
