5 Supernatural Characters That Got Over In WWE (And 5 That SUCKED!)

2. Got Over: The Undertaker

It couldn't have been anyone else.

The Deadman isn't just one of the most over supernatural gimmicks in the company, but one of the most over wrestlers in general. While the gimmick did have something to do with that, a lot of it comes down to the man behind the persona, Mark Callaway.

Even wrestling fans know that The Undertaker is ridiculous on paper. He's an ancient, evil, zombified wizard who, for some reason, decided to become a professional wrestler. But despite how ludicrous it sounds, you could easily buy into this terrifying character as 'Taker backed up everything he did, and his goofier magical moments were often undercut with great storytelling.

Making a gimmick like this work isn't easy, but Callaway excelled because of how seriously he took it. He stuck to kayfabe by avoiding public appearances and always keeping myself a mystery. This coupled with his daunting height and strong presence in the ring made him a spectacle.

The Phenom deserves his crown as the best supernatural gimmick, as everyone who followed him has used the legend as a blueprint.
