5 Supernatural Characters That Got Over In WWE (And 5 That SUCKED!)

6. Got Over: Bray Wyatt/The Fiend

In many ways, Bray Wyatt belongs on both sides of this list, as his supernatural gimmicks have always started strong but fail in the end thanks to a distracting overreliance on lighting effects and strange booking. But in general, the character has always been well received, and although things often end up going wrong, it's not a fault of the performer or the foundation of this character, so he slides into the right side of the hierarchy.

Windham Rotunda has been with the company for a long time now, and he's been through many stages. His initial run as Husky Harris was bland and uninteresting, but the same could not be said for his reinvention as the demonic cult-leader Bray Wyatt. Although this characters booking would drive his credibility down, the performance from Rotunda was incredible, as his mannerisms, choices and promos were transformative.

His reinvention as the twisted host of The Firefly Fun House also started strong, especially when his dangerous alter-ego, The Fiend, arrived. He got the support of fans and even captured the Universal Title. But, as things often do with Wyatt, WWE overdid it and ruined all of his mystique.

Every version of Bray Wyatt has been solid, and it's a shame his booking can't say the same.
