5 Terrible UFC Fights That Ended Via Highlight-Reel Knockout

2. Gabriel Gonzaga Vs. Kevin Jordan

Many of today's MMA fans will have absolutely no clue who Kevin Jordan is. And for good reason. His career spanned from 2000 to 2010 where he went 11-9 overall and 0-2 in the UFC during his lone stint that came in 2005. In said fights, let's just say he performed less than spectacularly ...

On the other hand, there was the heavyweight up and comer Gabriel Gonzaga who made his Octagon debut at 4-1 against the more experienced Jordan. At the time, Gonzaga was a BJJ specialist whose only loss was to the future UFC champion Fabricio Werdum. Gonzaga would go on to enjoy a decent run in the promotion himself and even challenge for the title at a point. He started that stretch off rather oddly, to say the least.

In the first round of his bout with Jordan at UFC 56, Gonzaga controlled his opponent on the ground and stayed out of trouble. Much to the displeasure of the fans.

What followed in rounds two and three was essentially a staring contest as not much happened. In total, Gonzaga would land 63 strikes in the bout with 40 of those coming in the opening round. As for Jordan, he landed a total of 19 thus equaling out to less than 10 shots connecting in each round.

Both men slowed down the longer the fight went on and Jordan seemingly needed the finish but the fight was so bad that it makes you wonder if anyone was really scoring it at all. Stunningly, Gonzaga attacked with a superman punch as Jordan plodded forward and completely crushed the American's nose. It was an awesome and rare way to get a knockout but it sure was a drag to get there.
