1) Everybody else in that match either doesn’t need a briefcase to get a title shot (Like Braun or Joe) or isn’t somebody the company currently believes in as a viable holder of the belt. Owens, Balor, Rusev, Roode etc. That last one’s important because after Corbin they won’t just do another failed cash-in angle two years running.

2) The Miz is the company’s best possible worker with a prop. Just think about what a big deal the Intercontinental Title, or The Mizterage or, s**t, even Maryese were when he was working them into his gimmick

3) He’s deserving of another run at the top, and this is the quickest and most direct way of getting him back up there. Which is important because there are precious few interesting heels at that end of the company

And 4), they just really, really, really !*$% like him. And history show that they like putting the belt on just whoever it is they like. So yeah, it’s a no-brainer for me lads.
