5 Things We Want To See After WWE Royal Rumble 2022 (And 5 We Don’t)
6. Don’t: Big E Slides Back Down
It’s almost too heartbreaking to reckon with, but the Big E experiment might be over almost as soon as it began. Prior to the Brock/Roman place setting earlier on the show, he felt like one of the top choices to win the match. Instead, he was treated like just another guy.
Big E deserved better than to be run through by Lesnar at Day 1 (a situation which only becomes more frustrating now that Brock’s title has been snatched less than a month later). On WWE programming he was barely given the chance to build, with few convincing title defences and a damaging number of losses.
In the real world, though, he more than proved his worth. He appeared at various sporting events and on TV promoting the company. He’s an incredibly charming and charismatic man who could do a great deal for the company given half the chance.
With E returning to SmackDown, it seems possible that, like Kofi before him, he’ll return to the New Day and continue business as usual. While that’s no doubt a blast - and this is in no way a knock on that team - Big E has so much more to offer than that.
