5. Want: Mighty Molly vs Nikki A.S.H
Nikki A.S.H’s championship run wasn’t very good. She was a popular Money In The Bank winner, but was booked remarkably weekly while holding the belt, and despite a few good matches, never looked like a top star. Since then, she’s been left to flounder in the tag division with Rhea Ripley, on whom she later turned.
If you’re going to turn Nikki heel, it stands to reason that you’d transition the (almost) superhero to a supervillain, and who better to do this with than Mighty Molly, whose appearance in the women’s Rumble was a hugely welcome one. Molly seems to be in great shape and is about as sympathetic a person as you could hope to find, all the better to fuel Nikki’s descent into villainy.
It’s worth remembering that the former Nikki Cross is a seriously talented performer who can pull off a wild character with gusto. The colourful, kid-friendly superhero gimmick never really worked. Let her embrace the dark side by way of destroying lovely Molly Holly and we might just have something to work with.
