5 Things You Didn't Know Were BANNED In TNA

1. Heavy Emphasis On Blood Generally

Linked in the previous entry is a story from AEW's Jon Moxley. He's defended the use of blood in his matches as natural and realistic, which will also send most into a wider conversation about just how "realistic" pro wrestling needs to be. This is a biz that championed an undead supernatural zombie mortician for decades, y'know - it's hardly real world sport.

Here's the deal: TNA hasn't banned blood use across the board. Nobody's going to get fired if they bleed hardway, for example. Wrestlers just have to be mindful not to bleed willy nilly without clearance or without it being a key part of the narrative arc they're trying to sell. Like with those slaps, the roster has to get permission from upper management to use claret in any bouts or segments in front of the cameras.

Widespread blood that occurs without consent? It isn't accepted under the newer policy. PWInsider's Mike Johnson wrote in May 2025 that TNA figureheads informed talent that they must start "keeping current and potential advertisers and partners in mind" when they're performing.

That's a non-negotiable.

So, epic spots that are carefully constructed with blood loss in mind? Sure. Blood for the sake of it in a midcard match just because someone wants to look tough or get themselves over? Nah, that'll come with a punishment they definitely don't want.
