5 Ups & 1 Down From Last Night's WWE NXT (Apr 25)

4. Undisputed Dominance

A main roster-esque in-ring talking segment kicked last night's show off, with The Undisputed Era flexing before the gathered masses, and it delivered.

Roderick Strong was officially announced as an NXT Tag Team Champion, taking Bobby Fish's spot after turning on Pete Dunne at TakeOver: New Orleans. He offered no apologies for his actions, though. Instead, 'The Messiah Of The Backbreaker' claimed he did it for himself, and called it "the best decision of [my] career," then added (rightly) that Dunne would have eventually turned on him anyway.

"Roddy Vs. The World" is over. As O'Reilly added, Undisputed are finished with being backed into corners, because they "can't be stopped," with his closing diatribe effectively setting them up as the brand's power players.

We don't necessarily want (or need) NXT to open in such a manner every week, but this was a fine segment, with each wrestler coming off confident and assertive. Finally, after months of war, they rule NXT's midcard. If not for Aleister Black, their level of control would be absolute, so let's see where they head next.
