Variety is one of pro wrestling's biggest strengths.

One minute, you can find yourself watching a gritty, technical showdown that sees both workers jockey for position on the mat. The next, here come three high-flyers who put on an aerial masterclass and showcase spot after spot after spot. That's something AEW nailed with this week's episode of Rampage.

Tony Khan has one of the erm...deepest rosters in the biz, so it's often hard for him to find time for everybody. Rampage eases that burden a little, because the one-hour weekly gives those on the fringes a chance to impress. It's still vital that Khan keeps some of the main story threads ticking on the 'C' show though.

On Friday, Full Gear actually got some build via Rampage. MJF's AEW World and ROH Tag Titles were a focal point (even if the double champ himself wasn't present), and Skye Blue continued her development by displaying some out-of-character traits during her own match.

Not all of it worked, and some could make All Elite's programming a little scattergun come Collision and/or Dynamite episodes to come, but it was hard to argue with most of the content Tony served up here. No "IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS" either, which is a bonus ball after Wednesday's miserable revelation about All In tickets.

Here's all the good and bad!
