5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (1 May - Results & Review)

Rampage continued Dynamite's hot ending, then offered even more AEW violence.

Swerve Strickland wasn't a major part of this week's rearranged Rampage, but the reigning AEW World Champ did cut a brief promo to address Christian Cage's attack on Dynamite. That was appreciated, because it linked both shows together. Overall, Tony Khan did a top job of that on Wednesday night.

Rampage opened with a continuation of The Elite and Kenny Omega angle. This decision instantly gave the 'C' show some spice, and meant anyone who wanted some more fallout from The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry going ice cold on their old mate got it. Smart booking there.

Not everything landed during the third hour, but there was enough meat on the bone to make sticking around worth anyone's time. The main event actually felt worthy of that spot (which hasn't been the case on some of these leeching/follow-on Rampages recently), and the gratuitous violence was even contextualised with storyline history between both women beating the crap out of one another.

Here's all the good and bad from Rampage - a show that definitely benefits from going live and tailing either Dynamite or Collision!
