5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (1 May - Results & Review)
4. As Solid As They Come
Kyle O'Reilly has been a regular in-ring treat since returning. Wednesday night was the dude's latest clinic - Kyle doesn't sprint through loads of spots for the sake of it, but actually wrestles and laces his matches with both pacing and logic. It's refreshing on a roster jam-packed with Canadian Destroyers and a lack of selling.
O'Reilly vs. Rocky Romero won't win any awards come the end of 2024, but it was a credit to this week's episode. Kyle always looks like he's been in a proper fight once the bell sounds, and he gave Romero a lot of shine during an otherwise routine win. That's what fab pro wrestlers should do!
Selling and jeopardy count for a lot.
Kyle will spin out of this into the ongoing Adam Copeland vs. House Of Black feud. He offered to help the former Edge against Malakai and troops on Dynamite, and will surely team with Copeland on TV shortly. It'd be amazing to see O'Reilly vs. Buddy Matthews in a singles as well.
Just putting that out there, universe.
