5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (1 May - Results & Review)

3. Not Mad At It

Chris Jericho Big Bill Renee Paquette
AEW

Right, so it's obvious to anyone who watches everything All Elite puts out that the weekly product and the hardcore audience that consumes it could use a break from Chris Jericho. However, aligning him with Big Bill might just change this fan's mind on that (at least for a while). It's a great decision for multiple reasons.

Firstly, Bill needed some direction following his tag-team run with Ricky Starks. Second, Jericho will work well as a smug veteran who lacks self-awareness but has a big "redwood" to fight his battles. No, Chris shouldn't get another full-blown faction, but Big Bill will be a good heater for him.

Bill is the Diesel to Jericho's pompous HBK.

Some reading this won't like that comparison at all. Fair enough, but it's important to give everything a whirl before deciding if it sucks or not. Let this one bed in and breathe, then people can rip it to shreds if it's just another vehicle to push Jericho further away from the excellence of his earliest AEW performances.
