5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage: Fyter Fest Week One (July 15)

Downs...

3. Back In His Lane

House Of Black Dark Order
AEW

Credit to the commentary team for trying their best to talk Brody King up during the opener, but the truth is that he's gone from challenging Jon Moxley to selling far too much for Dark Order. That's not meant as a knock on Alex Reynolds or John Silver, but they got waytoo much in here.

Whilst it is cool that AEW wants to make everything competitive...not everything needs to be. House Of Black are really suffering from this. One minute, fans are supposed to believe that they're maulers who can't be stopped. The next, they're huffing and puffing against the lowest teams on the tag food chain.

It's jarring.

Rampage's first bout had some questionable moments. Silver hitting a German suplex on Brody was impressive, but just seemed to happen 'because spotz', and Reynolds visibly asked if Malakai Black was in position to break up the resultant pin on camera.
