5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 14)

1. The Women Bring It

Take a bow, Athena and Willow Nightingale.

Both women worked a quite excellent main event, and it deserved to headline Rampage because it was the best thing on there. The headliner was intense, had nice heat sections from Athena, Willow's babyface fire is awesome, and everything clicked. That's genuinely lovely to report.

Willow winning was the right call too. She's hot right now; Nightingale and Skye Blue have a real chance to become the breakout stars in this women's division. Play their cards right, and AEW could feasibly have two legitimately fresh female acts to pin down the top belts for years.

Sure, the finish looked a tad off during Willow vs. Athena, but not enough to take away from the effort and energy they put forward beforehand. This was a really, really good match, and the kind that's a credit to Rampage.
