5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 29)

Holy show announcement!

Maybe they have, but it doesn't seem like AEW has mentioned Battle Of The Belts III much at all before this week's Rampage. Regardless, the company announced that Claudio Castagnoli will defend his ROH World Title vs. Konosuke Takeshita on next weekend's latest BOTB episode.

Hmm, it's not exactly promising that Tony Khan is leaving things so last-minute. On the plus side, Claudio vs. Takeshita should be bags of fun, but man...Battle Of The Belts is one AEW show concept that sorely needs a rethink soon. It's the bargain bin of All Elite programming, sadly.

OK, so more high-quality wrestling is never a bad thing. That's true. However, would it really put too much of a strain on Khan and his promotional machine to at least try to make BOTB look like something fans should bother tuning in for?

Some lead time would've been appreciated.
