5 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 19)

Ups...

5. Not Backing Down

Out of the matches announced so far, it's safe to say that the one with the least amount of decent booking is the Knockouts Championship bout between champion Taya Valkyrie and challenger Jordynne Grace. All we've really had so far is a previous title match between the pair ending in dubious fashion as Valkyrie feigned an injury, leading to a championship retention via count out.

On this week's episode, Grace prevented the champ from abandoning her match with Madison Rayne, resulting in The Queen Bee picking up a huge victory that could set her up for her own title contest further down the line. As for the Homecoming showdown between Taya and Jordynne, this was a slight callback to their first outing. Grace stopping Valkyrie from leaving was akin to how the aforementioned championship contest came to an end.

It certainly wasn't the biggest thing to happen on the episode, and we'll likely have forgotten it happened by the time we get to Homecoming - still though, it was something.
