2. 'Big Jim' Gets A Big Win

One can just see the complaints now. 'Why is Jimmy Uso beating Drew McIntyre right before Drew walks into Elimination Chamber?'. Anyone pointing that out is only concerned about the credibility of an important PLE match, but their fears are misplaced on this occasion. Look at the evidence. Uso rolled McIntyre up in surprise fashion, and the finish was presented as more of an opportunistic fluke.

However, it’s a clean win over an established top guy for ‘Big Jim’. He’s really coming on leaps and bounds as a singles star in his own right, which is great to see after it looked like he’d be left in the dust by his Royal Rumble winning brother a while ago. Some might not like McIntyre losing before Chamber one bit, but Drew got his heat back post-match by battering Uso. They had a tidy match too, one that ended with McIntyre’s lust for violence costing him.

In short, he’ll survive this.

It's crucial to remember that Jimmy is trying to build momentum on his side. Triple H knows that Uso will be a valuable upper midcard player for the rest of the year, so sacrificing McIntyre for one night was the right thing to do. Drew yelling at a downed Uso after flattening him, and saying that he's the one going to WrestleMania anyway, will come back to haunt him post-Chamber.

Jimmy vs. Drew was the right choice as an opener for SmackDown. Hopefully, this isn't the last time these two go at it. They've got chemistry, man.
