5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (26 Dec - Results & Review)
1. An Automatic Weekly Down
It’s beyond rubbish that feuding with Michin and B-FAB is all WWE has for Jade Cargill now she’s Women’s Champ. The promotion knew they'd be taking SmackDown from 2-3 hours starting with the 2 January 2026 episode, and yet this tripe is all they had in mind for Jade?! She should be kicking in office doors and dishing out clotheslines for that formatting blunder.
This week, a couple of quick backstage promos went over old ground. Nobody said anything new, and the whole thing is just so boring. It’ll take one hell of a match to turn the nose up on this story, let's be real. Triple H also better have something major in store for Jade once SmackDown settles into that 3 hour groove again, because the show could honestly use a proper female feud to reflect her star power.
Besides, they’ve been brushing the title off since Tiffany Stratton was champion, and that needs to stop. It's nonsensical, counterproductive and unenjoyable to watch strong acts like Stratton or Cargill flounder the way they have been with the gold around their waists. They've both tried to make the best of scraps handed to them, but something has to change for the better in 2026.
It's too late for Tiffy's reign, but Jade is different. She's begging for a Bianca Belair comeback, or just something that people care to see. Going back and forth with Michin and B-FAB isn't cutting it, and it never will. The punishment continued on this week's show though, because of course it did.
