5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (27 Sept - Results & Review)
3. These Boys Could Work In Their Sleep
Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade part 8,263 was very, very good. That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who watches SmackDown weekly, 'cause both guys have been killing it and are only getting better the more they work together. Is it slightly irritating that WWE went back on the five match series idea by extending it? Sure, but only a blind man could deny the in-ring quality.
Going the three-way route and booking both Andrade and Melo as challengers for LA Knight is slightly less irksome than a Women's Title Triple Threat would've been; there's more fun to be had between that trio than Bayley vs. Naomi vs. Nia Jax. Simple as that.
So, the match was another barnburner and there's slab thick intensity between Knight and 'El Idolo' on top of that. Andrade feels like the United States titleholder disrespected him last week, but something else is at play: LA isn't your standard happy-go-lucky face. He's a real human being with a fair old ego on him.
This is all coming together nicely even with the repetition. Yours truly has been wrong to bash that.
