5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (3 Oct - Results & Review)

1. Contract Signing Wastes Time

Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer didn’t have much to say during their face to face contract signing. Further, the way WWE talks up the Crown Jewel Titles as “prestigious” when they don’t mention them all year round and they’re forgotten as soon as the event is over = laughable. It's seemingly lost on Triple H that nobody actually cares much about these things, largely because they've never been given any reason to.

Cody Rhodes and Liv Morgan snagged the belts on last year's card, then they were probs left in storage over in Saudi Arabia before being flown over to Australia for this latest procession. The Crown Jewel belts are token trinkets at best, so it's legit hard to get dizzy with excitement about anyone competing for them.

Meh, at least Stratton vs. Vaquer will be a solid match eh? If you need another downer, then consider this: Tiffy and Stephanie will be teaming up on next week's SmackDown to work with Kiana James and Giulia. Oh, it's that old 'opponents team up' dynamic again. When on earth will WWE realise that this just isn't compelling? It's boring, actually.

You know what'll happen here. Stratton and Vaquer will combine as a super-team to mop the floor with the heels, then something will happen that puts across tension between them. That's so dull, and both deserve better. Tiffany has been on autopilot as a character for far too long now (maybe even since her WrestleMania match with Charlotte Flair), and this babyface vs. babyface respect thing is so painfully lifeless it hurts.

Enjoy seeing one of them hold a title they'll leave at the airport.
