5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 21)

1. Aleister Black

...what could be a nice midcard feud.

Aleister Black's fourth 'Tales Of The Dark Father' vignette was the strongest one yet. He also carries some mystique again after randomly attacking Big E. Now, Black can justify his salty actions and everyone can look forward to some surely-awesome matches between the pair at HIAC and beyond.

This is similar in some respects to Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins, or could be. The roles are reversed between heel and baby, sure, but WWE will want Black to put E over as a major star without sacrificing himself in the process. That's pretty much what's happening elsewhere, and it's a formula WWE should try more of.

Eventual losers don't need to tumble back down the card afterwards - nobody needs to look useless, put it that way. It remains to be seen if Aleister will peter out like he has before, but this was a really strong start to life on SmackDown.

It's about time.
