5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 23)

4. Murphy's Overall Performance

It's hard to shake the feeling that Murphy bolting from Seth Rollins' side would mean more had WWE developed the sidekick better, but it is what it is. Peripheral characters like 'Don't Call Me Buddy' Murphy take whatever they can get in this company, and at least he's getting a nice storyline out of it.

Besides, he looked awesome against his on/off leader.

Rollins and Murphy put on a nice match that reminded one of the ex-Cruiser's efforts against Roman Reigns last August. Hopefully, this leads to bigger and better things for Murphy. The way he worked against Seth was promising, and his facial expressions towards Rey and Dominik Mysterio when Aliyah came out to help him were believable.

If WWE were paying attention, they'd see a performer who has far more range than they probably expected. Murphy can fly, he can brawl, he can match styles with the likes of Seth and he deserves a chance to develop more personality.
