5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2026 (Results & Review)

3. Speaking Of WWE’s Confused Top Guy…

WWE Money in the Bank 2026 Roman Reigns

Whether he’s a babyface or a heel, Roman Reigns certainly showed up Saturday night, as he and LA Knight delivered a solid, show-opening world title match.

While Reigns did kick out of several LA signatures and finishers, he also gave Knight a good amount, with the Megastar surviving Superman Punches, a Uranage, and a spear. The match opened with a nice little tone-setter: Roman hit a shoulder block and celebrated by putting up the ones, only for Knight to pop up and mock him from behind, then turn the one into a one-finger salute when Roman turned around.

The second half of the match saw both men pretty much just go for home run spots, trying to put the other one away. The tactic worked with the New Orleans crowd, which was hot for this opener.

Setting aside the gripes about the booking choices with Roman’s character and how that undermined Knight, this was a perfectly fine match. But those gripes still knock the match’s overall positives down a couple of pegs.
