Look, this is defo an arguable point. Well, all points are arguable because they’re just one fan's opinion, but yes. Truth looked more competitive here against John Cena than he did at Saturday Night's Main Event before, but he still feels way behind the top WWE stars and that's problematic.

Perhaps it's unavoidable due to a myriad of factors like age, legacy clowning etc, but his serious shift did seem like an opportunity for WWE to do something special and capitalise on fan buzz. Sadly, the honeymoon period on that is over - Truth was an afterthought here vs. Cena yet again. Don't kid yourself, this wasn't a million miles away from portraying the guy as a plucky jobber to the stars who ultimately has no chance against top liners.

If that's his fate, then so be it, but why bring Ron Killings back amidst much fanfare just to do this? He had an edge following that Money In The Bank return, but WWE has fudged everything by making it crystal clear that he isn't going to get an unlikely-but-heartfelt serious run. In fact, he's already an afterthought so the company can focus on a one-off final battle between Cena and CM Punk.

They've got the bigger match, sure, but...man, you've got to feel sorry for Truth. At least he signed on WWE's dotted line on his own terms and is guaranteed some good money. That's about the only positive to come out of his comeback post-MITB run-in. If he's supposed to be a threat, then make him look like a threat.

Not sure why that's such a hard concept to grasp.
