Downs...

4. Maybe Sell The Sucker Punch, Cena?

John Cena Logan Paul

John Cena's jaw should've still been smarting from a Logan Paul sucker punch that capped off last week's episode of SmackDown, but it wasn't. Or, at least, Cena didn't put that over during his promo on this week's broadcast. In fact, in one of the worst 'Super Cena' displays you're likely to see, John didn't even acknowledge that Logan had smacked him in the chops before running away.

What was the point of booking it then? That punch needed to tick Cena off. If it did, then that didn't really come across here. Perhaps this was a creative choice showing that John isn't sweating Paul, but it's a little late for that. He's already put the YouTuber turned wrestler over on the mic a hell of a lot (they teamed together pre-Cena babyface turn, don't forget).

This is a small gripe, maybe, but a valid one. It isn't much to ask that savvy veterans like JC play by the rules. If nothing else, you'd be forgiven for thinking he'd bring up last week's show-ending angle and dare Logan to try it again. 'See what happens if you do, son'. That sort of thing.

Nope, apparently it's for the best if everyone just ignores key plot points.

That baffling bit of ignorance from Cena is why so many had issues with his peak babyface run a generation ago. If nothing gets to him at all, and he's always in control or on the higher ground, then where's the threat? More on this segment later, because there was an upside, but John's part ranged between confusing to fiery.
