3. Drew McIntyre’s Logic

One of the best things about Drew McIntyre as a heel is that he often uses simple logic to feed his promos and points. It’s Kevin Owens-esque, which is meant as a compliment. Drew thinks he's absolutely right to call out babyface behaviour, and that goes a long, long way. Here, he pointed out that Cody Rhodes is a charlatan who uses people and studies their weaknesses under the guise of friendship.

He brought up Cody going after Orton’s injuries during their King Of The Ring final, for example. It’s all very smart and logical heel work. After listening to that rant, Randy fired back and said that he didn’t attack McIntyre on behalf of Cody, he attacked him because he thinks he’s “a p**ck”. That earned him a head butt from a wild-eyed Scot.

Security (presumably volleyed through the curtain by GM Nick Aldis) ran in before the RKO, but Paris got a few of those on the goons to keep them happy, then Orton lined up a punt before Drew powdered. As always, these guys worked very well together. That's the case whether they're trading moves during matches or trading barbs over the live mic.

Unless there's a late change, Randy vs. Drew won't be added to the Clash In Paris format sheets after all. That's a pity, but there's enough gas in the tank to keep things moving until Wrestlepalooza, and this is part of a larger frame story involving Rhodes. He's off TV right now doing other things, so there's no harm in a slower pace.

Orton and McIntyre are good enough to keep plugging gaps.
