3. The Tag Division Is In Turmoil

OK, so that tag turmoil match is exactly what happens when you butcher a division then expect people to care about all of the moving parts within it. The Motor City Machine Guns have nothing going on and were eliminated by a bad ref call, Fraxiom are flashy but have no substance, Los Garza are rudderless and fans have been conditioned not to care about them, The Wyatt Sicks have strangled the entire division, and new number one contenders Damian Priest and R-Truth are a comedy team.

Meanwhile, MFTs as champs haven’t really got going either and are in the midst of a lifeless feud with The Sicks.

Priest and Truth were winning this as soon as they worked that backstage promo with the GM, so it was tough to invest in much going on here. That sucks, because some of these squads have already shown how good they can be if they’re actually given a fighting chance. Sadly, even though Angel and Berto were handed a fair chunk of time in this bout, it's hard to get onboard with them because they've been posted missing for so long.

WWE does this a lot. They always have. Acts are semi-pushed, forgotten about, then suddenly brought back like the stop/start stuff isn't a problem. It's one of the worst booking tropes that Trips has carried over from his father in law Vince McMahon. Sure, this gives Priest and Truth something to do come 'Mania, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's interesting.

SmackDown's tag ranks have been sinking for too long following a red hot period.
