5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Nov 20)

3. World Championship Chemistry

Roman Reigns Drew McIntyre

Their chemistry on the mic is fierce.

Both men did a remarkable job with very little material on Friday. They let natural competition take centre stage, and managed to weave some realism in there that rewarded those who've been paying attention all year long. For example, Roman believes that Drew was just 'keeping things warm' in his absence.

McIntyre didn't take kindly to the suggestion that he was a placeholder for someone else. This is the dude who tore the house down at Royal Rumble, then connected with fans like never before after beating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title at WrestleMania. To Drew, 2020 has been his year, not Roman's.

Just look at the eye contact in the pic above - it's mean, it's raw and it's the kind of thing WWE don't do enough. These guys don't like one another, but share a healthy professional respect neither wants to admit. They're turning a passive situation into a thrilling one.
