5 Ups & 5 Downs For WWE Raw (15 Sept - Results & Review)

4. ‘The Future’ Stuck In Neutral

For a wrestler dubbed “The Future of Lucha Libre,” Dragon Lee has sure spent a lot of time mired in a WWE time warp.

The masked superstar lost Monday night to El Grande Americano – who was helped by two more masked Americanos – marking another in a long line of battles against Judgment Day (or their ally El Grande) or American Made, most of which have ended in defeat.

Losing to Americano for the second time in two months, Dragon has managed just one televised singles win in more than 10 months. He’s seemingly nowhere close to even advancing to a successful midcard run, and his LWO stablemates have vanished from television exactly when he needs backup (seriously, an LWO/El Grande Americanos match is so stupid that it might actually work).

Instead, Grande and Dragon had a perfectly professional wrestling match, with some good spots and then a bunch of foolishness with the imposter Americanos (Dos and Tres). Probably the only redeeming thing was seeing all three Americanos do the “two Spider-Men pose” afterward.

If you’re into this story with Ludwig Kaiser and company, then you probably enjoyed the match. But if you’re looking for something off the hamster wheel for these characters, this was just another spin in place.
