5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (31 Mar - Results & Review)

1. Jimmy Becomes A Sacrificial Lamb

Jey Uso versus Gunther desperately needed a shot of adrenaline coming into Monday night. The feud had sputtered during the past month, with Jey becoming a joke of an opponent and WWE selling it as Uso having a crisis of confidence.

Then Jimmy Uso started bleeding buckets everywhere.

Jimmy was bound to lose to Gunther in their match. And the Ring General was certain to attack him after the bell, drawing Jey out to make the save. What wasn’t clear was that Gunther would terrorize Jey in a manner that shocked fans and resembled something you would see on the competitor brand, not in WWE.

Gunther ambushed Jey as he was helping Jimmy to the back and proceeded to zip-tie Jey to the middle rope. But rather than attacking his WrestleMania opponent, Gunther pummeled Jimmy, battering him to the point that Jimmy started dripping blood everywhere.

That only egged on Gunther, who wiped the blood on his chest and licked it before being covered in the crimson from locking Jimmy in a sleeper just inches out of Jey’s grasp as he desperately strained to reach out for his brother.

Just an absolutely tremendous segment that restored all of the hatred, anger, and venom from the first few weeks in one fell swoop. If WWE is smart, they’ll brush past the crisis of confidence, saying Jey is fired up beyond all belief now and is steamrolling to WrestleMania to cripple Gunther.
